Food Crisis: Rising Prices, Hunger and How to Fix Them

Today, a new generation is facing mounting food insecurity. World food prices hit record highs in March–April 2022. This third global food price crisis in 15 years was sparked by Russia’s war of aggression on Ukraine, but it has been fuelled by persistent underlying flaws and fragilities on which our food systems are based, such as import dependency and excessive commodity speculation. In this online event for policy-makers and civil society, leading food security experts take stock of the critical factors fanning the flames of global hunger. And they provide concrete policy prescriptions of what can be done to relieve this food price crisis now, and to create more resilient food and agricultural systems in the long term.
