Hosted by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the Institute for African Alternative
Just transitions represent a pathway towards helping communities remain within planetary boundaries on their upwards trajectories. African countries have inherent structural problems that hamstring their capacity to mobilise or spend the kind of funds that they require to make bold, decisive moves on climate action. Challenges include weak negotiation capacity, corporate impunity, illicit financial flows, poor capacity to manage carbon markets or attract adaptation or mitigation funding, etc. How do we reform public and private sector interests so that they help Africa achieve this goal?
Join us for an insightful webinar addressing the critical challenges and necessary reforms for mobilizing climate finance in Africa. The session will explore issues such as biased Development Finance Institutions, illicit financial flows, corporate impunity, and structural obstacles that hinder Africa's climate action.
